Medipense Encouraged by Local Member of Parliament

Montréal, Québec, Canada, May 24th, 2017– Medipense was pleased to host a visit by our local member of parliament, Anju Dhillon, member of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.

The Innovation Factor

After an extensive period of R&D, Medipense has embarked on its commercialization phase with the RxPense®. With our NPI run currently underway, the first manufactured units will begin deployment into select clinical trials this summer.

“We are very proud of our innovations which have led to the creation of patents and jobs. Our in-house team of engineers are second to none”, states Terry Fagen, President and Founder of Medipense. Terry continues: “The support network in place to foster innovation and growth makes Canada, and particularly Québec the best place in the world to start-up, invent, research, develop and engineer world class, multilingual, medical devices and consumer products.”

Politics Aside

We recently met with Ms. Anju Dhillon, Liberal government MP,  and her staff who expressed a keen interest in our new technology. The RxPense® was designed to help seniors better manage their medications and to increase adherence. We are living in a unique time. Our society is rapidly aging and we must find new ways of providing excellent healthcare with limited budgets. The RxPense® does just that by allowing seniors to remain at home longer, to be monitored remotely by health care professionals and to benefit from advances in telemedicine and electronic health records.

As Ms. Dhillon stated: “Canada is becoming a global centre for innovation: creating jobs and growing our economy. Great visiting Medipense Inc. in LaSalle to learn about their new innovative medication dispensing and monitoring technology.”

The export potential of a simple product like the RxPense® is enormous. In addition to the assistance provided, we are very excited to be working with local and federal governments in Canada. It’s refreshing to see politicians take a genuine interest in supporting local businesses and recognizing the benefits of innovation. The support network is amazing!

Medipense continues to innovate with new products, features and services planned in the years ahead.
